Planning your photo montage using either slides or photos...
Plan your theme collection and gather pictures that fit into the
theme.
Some suggestions for collections are the pictures from a child
growing up, a family wedding, a favorite vacation, etc.
You might divide the pictures into groups; preschool, elementary
school, high school, and later. For a wedding include the bride
and groom's pictures from their childhood.

Slides to Video
It has most likely been a long time since you viewed your slides.
Setting up the equipment is difficult and can be frustrating when
the projector doesn't work, the bulb is burned out, or if the slides
get jammed in the carousel. You should consider transferring your
family slides to video. Slides and photos can be transferred on
to VHS tape, CD-Rom or DVD. Each slide or photo is hand cropped
as needed and shows on the screen for 5 seconds before dissolving
into the next image. We can change the time upon request.
Many people have thousands of slides. You can significantly reduce
your costs if you go through your slides and remove those that
are duplicates and those that are poorly composed. You may choose
to remove those “scenery” slides of a mountain or a beach that
may not be as meaningful as those of dear friends or family. Charges
will be made for the time it takes to repair, make image adjustments,
or set up the arrangement order.
Although horizontally configured slides transfer better than vertical slides
due to the shape of a television screen each slide can be cropped and adjusted
to more closely fit on your TV screen without loosing the effect of the image.
Slides should be out of their carousels, rubber banded together.
All images should be numbered in the order you prefer.
The transfer fee includes one VHS or one DVD. Additional VHS or
DVD copies of your slide transfer are available. These make great
gifts for parents, siblings, children, etc.
Photo montage
Photos may be almost any size, color or B&W, etc. You may
include certificates, news clippings, etc. Almost anything that
can be scanned or photographed.
Approximately 10 photos are in a minute of video. 10 to 15 pictures
make a good size for a chapter – although you can put in as many
as you would like.
Number your source materials in the order that they should be
used. When numbering the materials use a soft felt tip pen to avoid
putting pressure on the front side of the material.
Although there is a small extra charge for extra “text” pages,
this is a good way to
transition from one section to the next. You may place titles over photos or
the chapter divisions can be simple text.
Photos should not be in frames or albums when you send them to
